AOR My Love is an annual club night dedicated to the smooth rock sounds of deejays Sampo Axelsson, Teemu Fiilin and yours truly. This year it was held at downstairs of Putte’s Bar & Pizza and I made a small run of risograph posters to promote it.
The big mission here is to bring Sanomatalo to life. Sanomatalo serves as a base for Helsingin Sanomat, Ilta-Sanomat, Taloussanomat, some galleries and stores, and even though it’s located in a cultural and transportational sweet spot of Helsinki, it’s perceived as a “glass box” in peoples minds.
We started with their flagship store, Kulma. I designed a versatile yet user-friendly square based system around the concept of “Pieces of media”. The design system is pretty self-explanatory: I basically took the brand logos and colors from Sanoma portfolio and mixed them with graphic elements and patterns and inspiring verbs.
Putte’s, one of Antto Melasniemi’s many excellent restaurants, is deffo the best spot for pizza and beer in Helsinki. There’s also a small club setting downstairs called aptly ”The Cellar”. Here are two posters, a flyer and a sticker I’ve designed for them, more work will follow.
